Beginning in 2002, IDA has been systematically involved in the development of human resources in the private and public sectors through the implementation of various educational programs and projects. With the aim of strengthening the position of SMEs in the market, entrepreneurial education programs are divided into the following groups: education of beginners entrepreneurs, education of users of entrepreneurial incubators, and education of entrepreneurs in the growth and development stage. The implementation of educational activities for public sector employees strengthens the human resources of public enterprises and local self-government units in Istria County, with the aim of improving research and development in the cooperation of the private and public sector and fostering stronger links between the private and public sectors.
To date, 471 educational programs have been conducted for 11,503 trainees.
STIMULATING THE GROWTH OF SMEs IN ISTRIA COUNTY THROUGH HIGH QUALITY SUPPORT
The Istrian Development Agency is the project holder and aims to develop and increase advisory and professional support services as well as information services for small and medium-sized enterprises. The project will provide effective assistance with the aim of strengthening the position of SMEs in the market in order to reduce the asymmetry of information among small and medium-sized enterprises and facilitate access to business knowledge and skills, partners and information which are key to growth and business development, and to improve economic success and survival rate of MSAs. Targeted groups are SMEs at different stages of their development, with particular emphasis on newly-established SMEs (operating for less than three years).
