Entrepreneurship

Recently, exceptionally good economic indicators made the Istria County one of the leading regions in the Republic of Croatia in terms of competitiveness and economic strength. These are the result of, among other things, quality development programs for the stimulation of self-employment and growth and development of entrepreneurship in general in Istria County.

IDA has been working for 20 years with the support of the Istria County and in cooperation with local authorities and other development stakeholders at regional, national and international levels, working on designing and implementing development programs for entrepreneurs, based on real needs of Istrian entrepreneurs, and adapting to the current economic situation.

The following activities are key for bringing about a real impact on the development of entrepreneurship in the Istria County:

• providing financial support through targeted lines of credit and a guarantee fund;
• development of entrepreneurial infrastructure (entrepreneurial incubators and coworking premises, entrepreneurial zones, clusters);
• preparation and implementation of educational programs for entrepreneurship;
• attracting and promoting domestic and foreign investment, informing and advising entrepreneurs about available incentives for encouraging and developing entrepreneurship on all levels.
